What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files with data stored on the hard disk of your computer during a visit to a website via your browser. For example, certain settings for a website are stored in these files, so that you do not have to reset them every time you visit. A unique ID can also be stored, so that a website can measure how many unique visitors have visited the site, or keep track of which pages you have visited, so that other relevant pages can be suggested on this basis.

Functional cookies

Analytical cookies

We measure the use of our website through a number of third-party tools. We do this to detect and correct errors on our site, to increase the user-friendliness and to test new functionalities or design (so-called A/B tests). These tools use cookies for this.

Marketing cookies

We advertise our brand and products through ad networks. These ad networks use cookies to keep track which pages you have visited to show you the right ads. Cookies are also used to match an ad click with a purchase, so that on this basis, a fee can be paid to the advertising network. We use the following networks:

  • Rakuten | Linkshare & Partnerize
    Shares an anonymous user ID when a purchase comes through one of our affiliate partners, which enables us to reward our affiliates.
  • Google Signals (Doubleclick) and GA Audiences
    Google collects user insights based on logged in Google users (e.g. demographics & interests). Google may use this to personalize their advertising (only if you, as a user, opted in for this Google function). It enables us to get additional demographic insights in Google Analytics on aggregated level.
  • Microsoft Ads (Bing)
    Microsoft captures which products you browse and collects browser information and an anonymous user ID to personalize their advertising.
  • Facebook
    Facebook captures your browsing behaviour on our website to personalize the content and ads they serve. We use this cookie to measure and optimize the performance of our Facebook and Instagram campaigns. We share your de-identifiable (hashed) email address and hashed Facebook user-ID with Facebook after purchase.
  • TikTok
    TikTok captures your browsing behaviour on our website and collects browser settings to personalize the content and ads they serve. We share your de-identifiable (hashed) email address after purchase. We use this cookie to measure and optimize the performance of our TikTok campaigns.
  • Pinterest
    Pinterest captures your browsing behaviour on our website and collects browser settings to personalize the content and ads they serve. We share your de-identifiable (hashed) email address and Pinterest User ID after purchase. We use this cookie to measure and optimize the performance of our Pinterest campaigns.
  • Emarsys (Scarab Research)
    Emarsys captures your browsing behaviour on our website to enrich the experience of our newsletter content. We can also share your de-identifiable (hashed) email address with ad networks for targeted advertising. We use this cookie to measure and optimize the performance of our newsletter and other CRM campaigns.
  • Cquotient
    Collects and analyzes data related to site usage and performance.

The European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance has developed a tool that allows you to see which ad networks keep information. There is also the possibility to unsubscribe your browser from one or more networks.
